32-bit IE on a 64-bit processor
I tried to play a game on gamevance.com and I got the following message:
"Gamevance Requirements
Unfortunately your computer does not meet
our system requirements. To view the
necessary changes please check below.
Operating System: 32-bit version of Internet Explorer is running on a 64-bit processor."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What can I do about this?
Have you tried playing games with some other browsers like Firefox or Google Chrome?
Why dont you go to Microsoft site and download 64-bit version of Internet Explorer 7 ? Try with 64-bit version of Internet Explorer 7 since your system is with 64-bit processor and then you might be able to play properly.
Re: 32-bit IE on a 64-bit processor
I uninstalled IE 8 and then went to Gamevance.com again. I got the same conflict as before except that it said my browser is Explorer 7.
"32-bit version of Internet Explorer is running on a 64-bit processor."
I then reinstalled IE 8 making certain that I chose the one for 64-bit.
I checked again with Gamevance.com and got the same message.
I have not tried another browser.
I can't understand why, even though I ask for 64-bit, Microsoft downloads the 32-bit.
Is there some setting somewhere that tells them to give me something compatible with XP which would have them automatically choose the 32-bit even though I ask for the 64-bit?
This is a Dell Studio 1737 laptop.
