Cname vs A Record, help
Hi There!

I am here to know about a question came in my mind....! The question came in my mind is Why would I ever use a CNAME? For subdomains, why wouldn't I always use multiple A records?

Both Cname & a recpord requires lookups, BUT CNAME records require two lookups; A records require single lookups.

CNAME originally are conceived for l' use of the solo when the CNAME heads for a zone in which you do not have the control, therefore if l' IP # modifications DNS can still find.

You should always use the notes of A instead of CNAME records if possible. Are faster and more efficient.

A CNAME, or one Alias (it is the only document which can serve d' alias), is very practical if you to mix the fields,c' be-with-to say. forums.companyname.com if the under-field is intended to go to www. companynameforum .com, you can use a CNAME. Personally, I would prefer a redirection in this case, but c' is an example of case where a CNAME can be used.
