Altec Lansing launches industry's first 2.2 speaker system

ltec Lansing, a division of Plantronics, Inc., continued its legacy of audio innovation with the introduction of the new Expressionist™ BASS desktop speaker system – the industry’s first 2.2 desktop speaker system.


The Expressionist BASS is a powerful two-piece PC speaker set, housing dual down-firing, radiating subwoofers built into each base for superb audio performance – designed for digital entertainment enthusiasts seeking optimal performance plus inspired design. Atypical of most high-end PC speaker systems the Expressionist BASS contains subwoofers within the system’s freestanding, cone-shaped body – thus eliminating the need for a third, bulky, bass-amplifying component where space is typically at a premium.

Additionally, the distinctive cone-shaped architecture of the new Expressionist BASS adds significant acoustic value to the speaker system. The rounded body decreases harsh edge diffractions which can typically "color" audio to the listener's ear – resulting in highly efficient frequency responses with low distortion for much cleaner, more natural sound.
