Intel Core i7: Nehalem is officially available

Intel today officially launched the Core i7.Three new processors based on the new micro-architecture of the founder of Santa Clara, code-named Nehalem, will be able to appear in the catalog resellers and integrators configurations. The Core i7 is engraved in 45 nanometers, while having to recall a number of innovations, such as integrating a memory controller DDR3 tri-channel, providing a new bus system QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) on certain models and the emergence of a third level of cache.
Thus, the Core i7 920, Core i7 940 and Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 that are marketed today. All three are therefore quad-core and feature 8 MB of cache and the third level of a DDR3 controller can climb to 1 066 MHz. They are also a thermal envelope of 130 watts.
The Core i7 920 and 940, including bus QPI displays a rate of 4.8 Gigatransfer per second are clocked at 2.66 and 2.93 GHz. They are sold in quantities of miles for 284 and 562 dollars. The Core i7 965 Extreme Edition is meanwhile running at 3.20 GHz and has a faster bus QPI, which may climb to 6.4 Gigatransfer per second. It is sold in 999 dollar amount of miles.
